Cosmetic Acupuncture
Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural alternative to Botox which is more common in Asia and less known here in the US.
Fine needles are inserted beneath the skin along facial wrinkles. The needling process stimulates a tissue repair response within the skin, causing the body to produce micro scar tissue where the needles were placed. The scar tissue is composed mainly of collagen. Over time this causes directed collagen production in focal areas, thus smoothing the skin and filling out wrinkles.
The body is growing new tissue, so this treatment requires multiple applications over time but results begin to be noticed after several sessions.
Each treatment begins with a multi-step cleansing of the face and finishes with application of clinical products to stimulate collagen production and a soothing mask. Total session time is approximately 1 hour.
